On October 1, 1992, Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University (MPBOU), established under the Madhya Pradesh University Act 1991, was initiated by President Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma on October 19, 1992. The emblem of the university draws inspiration from a verse in Raja Bhoj's "Saraswati Kanthabharan.” The degrees and certificates of the university are recognized by esteemed bodies like UGC(University Grant Commission), DEB(Distance Education Bureau), AICTE(All Indian Council of Technical Education), NCTE(National Council for Teacher Education), RCI(Rehabilitation Council of India), and AIU(Association of Indian Universities). The university boasts 11 regional centres and 612 study centres across the state, focusing on key aims:

Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University MBA Program

The Master of Business Management (MBA) Program will be available in modular form. Out of several six credit Programs, the student can opt for certain combinations as indicated in the enclosed course structure, a total of 21 programs in about 3 years to finish his study for the MBA. However, a student cannot provide more than 8 programs in any particular session of one year. The benefit of the modular system is that a student can essentially gain different Diplomas/Post Graduate Diplomas indicated in the Course Structure by completing sequentially the different program components required for an MBA. The Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University MBA Program also offers flexibility to accommodate students who may only be interested in a Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma course, rather than the whole of the MBA course. The Post Graduate Diploma in Management consists of the first 11 programs as given in the enclosed list of programs. In comparison, each of the other Diplomas/Post Graduate Diplomas consists of combinations of 5 programs.

A student must have passed the bachelor’s degree examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate in the field of B.Com or BBA from a recognised university.
