TISSNET Overview
TISSNET is a national level exam conducted every year in regular interval of time. This entrance exam is a gateway to various masters’ courses offered by Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS). TISS has campuses in places like Tuljapur, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Mumbai. TISSNET 2021 will be conducted on January 9, 2021

TISSNET Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility criteria for TISSNET:
- Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.
- There must be a total of 15 years of education in the profile of the candidate.
- Final year candidate can also apply.
- Candidate must have passed all the earlier appeared semesters.
- There is no age restriction.
- Applicant can apply numerous times.

TISSNET Registration
Registration for TISSNET can be done by both online and offline mode.
Online mode:
- The candidate needs to visit the official website and click on register option.
- Providing valid email id, the candidate will receive a password which will be used in future for login.
- After successful login candidate must continue with the application procedure by providing all the personal details, educational details, experience etc.
- Then the applicant needs to submit the application form by paying the fees. Fees cabe paid by credit card/ debit card/ net banking etc.
Offline mode:
- Candidate need to request for a form from the authorities via post to Assistant Registrar (Academic), Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Deonar Mumbai, 400088 with the application fees.
- With the received form, applicant needs to attach all the required documents attested from gazette officer and send it to the above mentioned address after filling it.
TISSNET 2021 Exam Pattern
TISSNET is conducted through online mode (Computer Based Test). Candidates are provided total time duration of 1 hour and 40 minutes with a total 100 questions.
The entire question paper is divided into 3 sections. They are:
- General awareness
- Mathematical and Logical Reasoning
- English Proficiency
General awareness has 40 questions whereas rest two sets have 30 questions each. All the questions are multiple choice questions and there is no negative marking.

TISSNET Result
To know about the result, applicants need to visit the official website and click on the link. At the login page candidate needs to provide the email id and password. After successful login, scorecard will appear which the candidate needs to download for future purpose.
The scorecard contains name, domicile, registration number, category, TISSNET score, cutoff and qualified status.
After the result, shortlisted candidates will be called for pre interview test and personal test. On the overall performance of the candidates, students are finally shortlisted for different courses.
TISSNET Cut-off
Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai releases the cut off score of TISSNET on its official website, days after the declaration of TISSNET 2021 result. Applicants are then shortlisted based on the personal interview or group discussion and written exam.Expected good score for the exam is 70 to 75.
Below are the cut off score for personal interview and pre interview test exam. Candidates scoring below the cutoff score will not b shortlisted for the upcoming exam.
