IIM Bangalore Admission Process 2021

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Banglore is one of the best B-schools that has a number of branches all over India which follows different criteria’s for selecting students for various courses. IIM Bangalore (IIMB) is one such, which was established in the year 1973.  The global ranking of the Institute is also very much good . The Institution also has partnerships with numerous private and government bodies which has helped the students to gain experience and placements in their future. Recently on October 1, 2020 it released its admission criteria on its official website (https://www.iimb.ac.in/). Due to COVID-19, IIMB has included certain in its admission process for 2021.

For the academic year 2021- 2023, a liberalised CAT 2020 percentile cut off along with low weightage and a relaxed eligibility criteria has been undertaken by the Institute. This year, the weightage on academic score has been increased which will be used to shortlist candidates for personal Interview and Writing ability test. But the score of personal interview and writing ability test will be considered important final for shortlisting the candidates for admission into various management courses offered b y the Institution. 

Candidates interested in applying in IIMB have to undergo a two step process for enrolling themselves.

STEP-1


Evaluation will be done based on the CAT score which will be conducted by IIM and other weightage (overall educational performance, work experience).

Overall Educational Performance:-

1.Marks in 10th and 12th Board exams:-By dividing the 90th percentile score with the marks obtained by the students normalised 10th and 12th scores are obtained. The last two years of marks are evaluated to identify the 90th percentile score. 

2.Marks in Graduation:-Final marks obtained in Graduation will be considered. Final year students can also apply.

Note: 

  • Special weightage will be give to candidate pursing Charted Accountant, Cost Accountant or Company Secretary Certificates. 
  • No other professional course is eligible for these criteria.

3.Work Experience:-Weightage for work experience will calculated based on the time period worked multiplied by 8 (maximum score). And the score will be divided by 36 (upper limit of work experience)
